How do you know if your AirVest gas canister is still good? First, check the lid. If it's punctured, that means that your gas canister has been used. I've had clients make the mistake of putting a used canister back on a vest, so make sure you dispose of it as soon as you remove it. Canisters will last indefinitely, provided that they're stored correctly. They should be stored between 32 and 100 degrees.
And if you're ever in doubt, or let's say you have a canister that is older than a year, I recommend popping it on a kitchen scale. You can see that the canisters have weights printed on them. And if you pop it on a scale, you want to use grams as your measure.
