It’s important that you actively participate in a fitting consultation for an equestrian air vest or body protector, so be prepared with these key questions.

1) What safety standard is the air vest or body protector that you’re trying certified to or tested to?

2) What is the warranty of the product that you’re considering purchasing? Are there known issues and how has the company responded to warranty claims?

3) Does the product have proof of insurance?

Why should you ask these questions? You want to make sure that the vest that you're buying is fit for purpose, specifically your purpose.

The different safety standards are going to relate to how you want to use the vest and in terms of the warranty, you want to know that if something goes wrong, whether it's a seam splitting, a zipper busting, an air chamber perforating, that it's covered by warranty.

Proof of insurance, especially for air vests is critically important. You want to make sure that either the manufacturer or the distributor has U. S.insurance just in case something goes wrong.

Being informed and knowing what questions to ask will result in a better fitting experience.
